Five Predicted Five Star Reads

Hello, friends!! I have seen so many other people do posts like this so many times and I have always thought they seemed super cool, so I wanted to try one! I have a lot of over dramatic and unnecessary feelings concerning star ratings, especially five star ratings, that I plan to share as soon as I become a person who can actually express their feelings in a way that make sense. In case you were wondering, that is not a capability of mine currently so that will have to wait. Without further ado, here are five books that I think will make me explode into five thousand pieces and then give five stars on goodreads.

I. Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell

Okay, listen, I know that there are issues with this series and that people are upset it is so hyped up and I 100% get that and totally see the point. However, I still really really loved the first book and fully expect to love to the second one. Rainbow Rowell may completely wreck me and leave me in the floor sobbing, but like, that is fine. I just want to see more of Simon and Baz and just hope they are doing somewhat okay and happy together. Also, I want to see Penny. And Agatha. And Ebb. And like, everyone and everything. Basically, I just want a sequel and give that is what this indeed is, I can’t wait to read it. It is also like a road trip?? Sign me up. Basically, I am just all about this book and can’t wait to read it.

II. Radio Silence by Alice Oseman

This book is going to break me into so so many different emotional pieces that we may have to humpty dumpty this thing and have everyone try and take turns putting me back together. I mean, like, as someone who has had to leave school and do things online and have ten thousand other issues, the fact that a book all about how school isn’t the right path for everyone even exists means so so much to me. You may find yourself asking, Arin, why haven’t you read this yet then? I can’t even use the “I don’t own this” excuse, because I have the ebook. The truth is I am kind of scared of this book? Like, it is going to make me confront things and make me over emotional and I am not ready.

III. Going Off Script by Jen Wilde

I don’t know why I am so determined that I am going to love this one given that I have heard like, no one talk about it, but I just get this gut feeling that I am going to like it. It may have something to do with the very pretty cover and the fact that it is a sapphic book that deals with real issues, I don’t really know. All I know is that everytime I find myself just looking at this book’s goodreads page (something that happens a lot) my brain is just like wow, this one, we’re going to love this one a lot and I go cool. Anyways, I recently ordered this book from Book Depository so I will get to finally read it soon ahhh.

IV. Tell Me How You Really Feel by Aminah Mae Safi

How many lists or TBRs has this book been on now? Why haven’t I still read it? These are questions I don’t really know or want to know the answers to because if I have said it once I have said it a bunch, but this book is right up my alley. I mean, Gilmore Girls but where Rory and Paris get together. How have I not consumed this content yet? I love Gilmore Girls, I have probably watched it all the way through like five times so a version of that that is sapphic? Like. Sign me up. Why haven’t I read it yet? Someone make me read it soon, please.

V. Crier’s War by NIna Varela

This is another book where I feel like I don’t know much about it, but I just have the feeling I will love it. I have also seen a lot of positive reviews, so that helps. It just seems so cool? I don’t actually know what it is about and I don’t really want to know just because that is how I prefer to go into books, but this one is very sapphic and I don’t know, I am just ready for it. My preorder should be here next Tuesday on the day it comes out and if I have all of my ducks in a row (not likely) I will start it then (once again, probably not likely but we’ll see). Either way, something about this just screams five stars so there is that, I guess.

Okay, so, those are five books I think will be five star reads from me, but what about you? Have you read any of these or are they on your TBR? What books do you think will be five star reads from you? Let’s chat in the comments!

  1. I’m so hyped for Wayward Son as well! I understand the criticism of it and of the author and I’m 100% behind it but also… this is my emotional support problematic thing. I don’t really know how to compromise, I guess.

That's so relatable! There are so many books for me like that. I know I would love them but I'm so used to just not thinking about certain things I nope out in the last second…

Crier’s War was so good! So much yearning! Tension! It was a sapphic dream come true for me with all the slow-burn forbidden enemies to lovers romance! ❤

  2. I feel exactly the same way about Wayward Son haha – I understand people’s frustrations with it but I can’t help but love Carry On ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ll just be sitting here waiting impatiently until my preorder of Wayward Son arrives!

And OH BOY you’re gonna love Radio Silence. Not only was it 5 stars for me, but it’s one of my fave books of all time? Which probably isn’t making you any less scared of it haha…but even though it definitely makes you confront some Things that are not the easiest to face, it’s in a really cathartic and, like, healing way, if that doesn’t sound too cheesy. I always feel so much better after reading it.

Anyways, I hope you love all of these!! 😀
