Avengers Book Tag

I don’t talk about it often, but I love Marvel movies. Captain America is my favorite super hero, a modern day icon if you will. I even have a Captain America teddy bear (lovingly nicknamed Steve) that has come to college and numerous other vacation locations with me. He is the perfect study buddy, and the perfect reading buddy, really just the perfect everything. Anyways, a few days ago Brianna tagged me in this post and I thought that today would be the perfect day to do this since I’m going to see Endgame tonight (!!!!). I wish I was more excited than I am but I have gotten spoiled so many times I know a good bit of what happens, but I’m hoping that won’t event the overall experience too much.

Anyways, enough rambling, onto the tag.

Iron Man: A book that made you laugh out loud

redwhiteandroyalblue

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I haven’t even finished this book yet (at the time I’m writing this I am exactly 30 percent through) and this book has already made me laugh out loud a ridiculous amount of times, all of the characters are both extremely relatable and extremely funny. I was scrolling through my highlights the other day and laughed as I was rereading some of them. This book is just so so good and I can’t wait to have the time to sit down and finish it, much less wait for it to come out so that everyone can read it and laugh too.

Captain America (!): A book with a positive message

You Asked For Perfect by Laura Silverman

I feel like I’ve talked about this book both too much and not enough, but I really love it and it has such an important and good message. This book is all about academic pressure (specifically that stemming from AP classes in high school and oh boy did that hit me hard) and how it can cause you to make a lot of unhealthy decisions. As the story moves along, Ariel learns how to let go of things and accept that you can’t be perfect all the time and its really wholesome and heart warming and wow I love this book.

Thor: A book with a character whose strength you admire

campostbook

The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth

I know that Thor is like, physically strong, and that’s like his thing but we’re going to talk about someone who is mentally and emotionally strong. Cameron Post has been through way to much, like wayyyyy too much. First she had to deal with losing her parents very suddenly at a young age and then she had to deal with her family sending her to conversion therapy instead of being supportive. She’s had to deal with so much and she’s so strong and wow I love Cameron Post.

Hulk: A book that makes you incredibly angry

eclipse

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

Does a book ever just make you unnecessarily angry? Like, from an objective standpoint, this book is probably the best in the series so far, but I was just really angry about it the whole time. I don’t really know why, other than that I probably should’ve stopped reading this series a while ago but I kept reading for Charlie Swan, the only guy I care about. I think that was another thing about this, Charlie acted out of character the whole book and I did not appreciate it one bit. Leave Charlie Swan alone, please and thanks ma’am.

Black Widow: A book with a kick ass female protagonist

cols

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

I could have chosen any book in this series because Clary Fairchild is my actual favorite and I will support her until the day I die, but I chose City of Lost Souls both because Clary is on the cover and because she uses her training to actually fight for the first time. In my opinion, she has been kick ass since she came out of the womb but in this book other people start to see that for the first time and wow I love her. She will always be my hero.

Hawkeye: An underrated book that people should pay more attention to

storm

Storm by Brigid Kemmerer

*clears throat* Hi, I’m Arin and Elementals by Brigid Kemmerer is my favorite series of all time. These books are very underrated, I had hope that as Brigid’s other books became more popular attention would be drawn to this series as well but that hasn’t happened yet, so instead I will continue to scream “I love the Merrick brothers” very loudly until people check them out. I will also continue rereading scenes that make me cry and then *cue gasp* crying. Anyways, someone please read this series so that I can scream about them with someone who has read them and understands what I am talking about.

Well, that’s about it for today. Tonight I am going to see Endgame and it will completely wreck me, can’t wait. Have you seen the Marvel movies? If so, who is your favorite character? Have you read any of the books I mentioned? Let’s chat in the comments!

    1. I haven’t seen all of the Marvel movies because I’m not really a movie person either, I just can’t sit still that long lol. Finding time to watch all of them is a major accomplishment lol, I hope you continue to enjoy them!!
